The most common type of rail fence is the split rail fence. This fence is available with 2, 3, or 4 rails; 3 rail is the most common. At Landis Fence Co we usually stock several thousand rails and a corresponding number of posts so that our customers can come to get 12 rails for a repair, or enough posts and rails to build a 300 foot long fence. We also make gates of various sizes to match and we stock hinges and latches for the gates.

In addition to the split rail fence, we also stock round cedar rail and posts, and slip board fencing. Another style of rail fence is the nail-on-board fence, made of square fence posts with 6″ boards nailed onto the posts. All in all rail fences are versatile and easy to work with.

Split rail fencing is a very versatile style of fence. It can be used as horse fence, as a boundary between neighbors, as a decoration, and when wire is attached to it you can use it for a pool fence or to keep your children or dogs in the back yard.
